• As power you want that much compression ratio you need to increase, but up to a point. The more compressed air/ fuel mixture, higher flame, before the spark plug ignites it. This short of early combustion prevent by higher-octane gasoline. That’s why high power cars required high-octane gasoline. And they come along with higher compression ratio.
